Cook County Judge Donald Devlin has approved a wrongful-death settlement of $1.7 million for the family of Juan Ramos. Mr. Ramos died from injuries sustained in an automobile crash when a Salvation Army van, in which he was a passenger, left the roadway adn collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Joseph Shea represented the Ramos family in their claim against the defendants, Salvation Army and Chrysler Corporation of America.
Mr. Shea states, ” Juan Ramos was the pillar of his family. He devoted himself to their well-being. Juan lived iwth his wife and disabled daughter until the date of his death. This settlement will help to compensate the Ramos family for their loss and provide Juan’s disabled daughter with a secure future.”
